I, too, have been encountering this out of memory problem and I like the suggestion of setting up a RBL server on my network. Bu I need a little clarification.
Wasn't it SIMS Discussions [EMAIL PROTECTED] who once said... >Date: Sat, 1 Feb 2003 20:37:38 -0800 >From: Global Homes Webmaster <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Re: Not enough memory > > >On 02/01/03 at 20:39, Dale's Stuff opined: > >> How would one go about setting up such an RBL? > >First, create a zone on your name server for the RBL. When you say "zone" do you mean what QuickDNS calls a "domain"? Right now I have our domain, "pecandeluxe.com" set up in QuickDNS. Do I set up a domain "rbl.pecandeluxe.com"? Is that legit? > Then, for each >blocked IP address, you would need an A record in the zone such that if the >IP address is aa.bb.cc.dd, the A record is: > > dd.cc.bb.aa A 127.0.0.2 > >where the response address (127.0.0.2 in this example) is included in your >local blacklist. You mean I should put "127.0.0.2" into the "Black Listed Addresses" page of the SIMS SMTP server? > You would then add name of your RBL zone to SIMS' RBL >servers list. So when SIMS goes to check a remote host's IP, it'll make a >query for dd.cc.bb.aa.your.rbl.zone.name. Using my example above, the RBL server would be "rbl.pecandeluxe.com" and the query would be "dd.cc.bb.aa.rbl.pecandeluxe.com"? Am I on track or totally out in left field? >-- > Christopher Bort | [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Webmaster, Global Homes | [EMAIL PROTECTED] > <http://www.globalhomes.com/> ================================================ | Doug Starkey | | Network Administrator | | Pecan Deluxe Candy Company | | 2570 Lone Star Drive | | Dallas, TX 75212-6308 | | e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | voice: 214-631-3669 Ext. 108 | | fax: 214-631-5833 | ================================================ ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
