SIMS just slams the door on a harvester. CGatePro will not.

Although it hasn't been announced yet, the next version of CGP will have anti-harvesting/anti-brute-force-attack protection.

Besides, in CGP you've got a ton of anti-spam stuff SIMS doesn't have, for example the ability to manually deny the SMTP listener to spammers' IP ranges, the ability to blacklist by DNS Name (I've got things like "*.da.qwest.net" and "*.sprinthome.com" in there), and to Unblacklist by DNS name (needed for when that DNSBL you're using blacklists AOL's relays).

Plus CGP has the fabulous RFC822 Receiver feature (Banned Header Lines, Banned Body Lines) to bounce spam based on text strings encountered during the SMTP DATA phase and before the message is accepted (I've got strings such as "Subject: ADV:*" in there).

As there probably won't be an OS X version of SIMS (and SIMS crashes very frequently in OS X's Classic), you need to move forward to benefit from any future anti-spam mechanisms Stalker implement, and they're likely to only be implemented in CGP.
