I know of no technical reason why this should fail, although I know Mac OS classic is not suitable for combined server and interactive use. The thing is, I don't have another Mac I can use (unless I did my interactive work on an LC III - I certainly can't run MacASP on an LC III). The answer simply must be one involving everything running on this one single machine. > Barring that, try running some other client, such as Eudora, and see if the > problem persists -- perhaps Outlook doesn't like this arrangement. Well, then you get the problem of mailbox storage - if it fails in Eudora, or I still find that program too evil to use, I've got to get all my mail back out of it again. If I have to switch, I will, but I'd rather not try dragging mail all over the place between clients for weeks or months until I find something not only stable, but also adequately featured and usable :) > You could try downloading an updated version of OT from Apple's > website? Open Transport on this does suck horribly - maybe just pulling the copy from my 9.2.2 updater with TomeViewer might do the trick. Assuming, that is, I can identify the files (there are a lot of networking services extensions besides Open Transport's core extension that might need replacing). FTP might work better, *if* Apple have made it available as a single package. > Which web server package are you using? MacHTTP 2.6. > You could try shutting it down... Given that it takes days for the problem to appear, I simply cannot do that - I run a live site. I suppose I could quit the server every time I check my mail, but that would never actually prove the problem has gone. (Nor would having it permanently shut down). More than anything, I need a way to reproduce the problem :( ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
