A brief follow-up. The cutover went fine as far as the mail server was concerned. I did do one thing wrong (I forgot that my Linksys router doesn't play well with Safari and therefore a configuration change didn't take) which caused a bit of a mess for awhile - let's just say that having two routers which both think they have the same WAN IP address is not a good thing. :-( Where there was a problem was with Macjordomo. Earlier in the week I had moved Macjordomo from the OS9 system to the OSX system but still talking to SIMS on the OS9 system. That worked fine. But when I moved the mail server and started having Macjordomo talk to Postfix, no problem retrieving messages but big problems sending. Turning the log level up showed that Macjordomo was looping on an address and sending it over and over in a RCPT TO: line until Postfix errored with "too many RCPT TO". In the end, I fired up SIMS again, configured Postfix to forward all the Macjordomo addresses over to SIMS, and moved Macjordomo back to the OS9 machine. Which is probably how things will stay until I have time to get Mailman set up. -- Larry Stone [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.stonejongleux.com/ ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
