How to make sip phones with symmetric media support and symmetric signaling support. Any RFC is there..?
It means that SIP user agents using symmetric signaling send SIP messages from the same source port on which they receive incoming SIP messages (usually 5060). Only that way they will be able to create a binding in the NAT that will allow incoming SIP traffic through. I heard that, "Support for symmetric signaling is a must, SIP user agents not supporting that will not work behind NATs." I need to make my sip phone working behind NAT/Firewall. But, my UA right now uses different ports for outgoing and incoming rtp messages.
