I am not sure people using any open source audio codecs to develop VoIP
phones. The popular speech codecs used for VoIP are G.711, G.729 &
G.723.

The algorithms do not have any dependency on the DS Processors.

Subject: [Sip-implementors] Audio Codecs

Hi all,

I am not sure this clarification is relavent to this group.
If
not, excuse me.

Whether the open source audio codecs ( VOCAL etc..) will
have
any depndency on a particulat DSP processor. Can these codes can be
integrated to any hardware to develop a SIP phone. Please reply.

Regards,
-Suresh
