Hi Vivek,

Any provisional response causes transaction to move to the "proceeding"
state . When transaction is in the "proceeding" state it waits for the
final response from UAS in order to complete. When there is no final
response, in such case the transaction should goes into the "terminated"
state.

Since UAC does not get any final response ,UAC client can do two things
it can wait for a 408 Request Timeout response from the Server or
it can CANCEL the request .

Thanks

Subject: [Sip-implementors] Invite Client Transaction after it gets
100trying

Hi,

When Invite client transaction gets the 100 trying ( after sending
Invite ) from UAS, then the state changes to "Proceeding".

What should happen if no response ( 18X or 2xx or 3xx ) comes back to
Invite
Client who is in Proceeding state?

Should the Invite Client goes back to "Calling" state or should it go to

"Terminated" state?

I couldn't find this information in rfc 3261.

I was wondering if anyone could share some information on this.

Thanks,
Vivek.
