I have never done it from Windows, but yes my guess is that you should get 
svn for cygwin and get it through that.  I don't know if there is a native 
windows svn client.

Not to hijack this thread, but what's the best way to do this if one is 
using Windows/cygwin?  I can physically access the directory (at least I 
thought I could...) on an individual file through the browser, but would 
have to download individually.  Do I need to download SVN and access via 
cygwin?
