Any one on this Forum.  I am new to SipX and trying to help a customer connect their SipX equipment to our node.  I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas from my prior message.  I am sorry to be a bug but this customer would really like to use SipX to connect to our voip node.

Thank You,
Chris Harris

Scott,

I have attached the sip trace file.  The test call went as follows.  >From a PSTN call the voip DID -> connected to our voip node (69.9.148.24) -> trys to connect to sipX(69.9.130.21) -> commicates back to voip node (69.9.148.24) with 407 error.

Ranga,

It looks like our equipment is getting a 407 Proxy Authentication
Required error sent back from the sipX server. We have this setup for
IP based authentication. So there is no username registration
involved. Could there be a setting in sipX that would need to be
changed that would all a connection from an IP address with out a
username auth?

To debug this, you'll need to trace the message flow and see
what's going wrong. See:

http://sipx-wiki.calivia.com/index.php/Display_SIP_message_flow_using_Sipviewer#Getting_SIP_Messages_to_display

when you get the trace data, take a look at it using sipviewer
and/or post the trace with a description of your configuration
(identify components by IP address), what you were doing, and
which call in the trace you're talking about (by call-id or
frame number in the trace, preferably).
