        Subject: [sipX-dev] XX-6409 after upgrading to 4.02

        I did an upgrade from 4.01 to 4.02 to try to solve an ongoing
issue with zone files being overwritten and blanked out.

        XX-6409 - DNS Zone files over written when you Send Profiles on
Server Page

        I read this was resolved in 4.02. Today I updated to 4.02, and
when I send profiles via server page, my ZONE file is essentially
emptied.

        In looking through XX-6409 I see there is syntax of:

        //DNS_MODE="Manual"

        That is supposed to go into /etc/named.conf.

        Was this syntax suppoed to make it into the patch or is this a
manual entry? If so, what is the actual syntax, because BIND does not
seem to like the DNS_MODE="Manual" syntax that I can tell. From the
original issue I cannot tell if the syntax is related to a ZONE file or
the overall configuration.

        Does this need a new JIRA issue or are there any logs that I can
supply to assist with this?

        My current version is: 4.0.2-016420 2009-09-11T03:44:19
ecs-centos5

        Any help with this would be appreciated.

        Thanks,

        Tony

Hi Tony,

In the /etc/named.conf file the DNS_MODE command has to be commented out
so that BIND won't try to process it, e.g.
//DNS_MODE="Manual"
