Exactly, there is also another good reason to do that, as you already 
know martin _some_ phones doesn't accept multiple RFC4235 subscription, 
so if the RLS is already subscribed to that phone, it will reject the 
other/new subscription for the call pick up scenario and thus make the 
pick up fail.

I think what Matt and Jean are saying is that if the RLS already has a
subscription to the phone from where you want to pickup a call, then 
instead of asking the phone again, the proxy could just ask the RLS.
That would be faster and likely less error prone, especially if the RLS 
runs on the same server.  It requires though that the RLS already has a
subscription to that phone.
