I think "extension is not valid" is misleading too. That's why I suggested an improvment. It's not a high priority, but at some point when the UI starts to incorporate fax and other features, some recoding will need to be done and that would be a good time to inject any changes (like the time sucking "Please wait while your call is transferred" audio prompt... can be shortened consierably and a lot of users have asked how to remove it. So I'll consider a more encompassing improvement request to bundle this all together.
