What version bootrom is on it? I typically use the following method on Polycom firmware: Let the phone pull bootrom via sipx and then only put the "split" firmware on sipx for the phone to download.
I think the latest bootrom is 4.3.1 and it works on my phones here as well as with phones that are shipping with firmware 4.x. Just beware after you pass a certain firmware image release there is a OITA downgrade procedure. So far, all the phones I have touched with 4.x are able to use the process above without issue (to get them back to 3.2.x firmware).
