Hi Bob;

Thanks for the heads up.

We have an Ingate FW, it is a good solution but does not scale
well in cost terms.

Will media packets for established calls between two UA [both registered
from the outside world] pass thru the new remote NAT traversal solution that
you are building?

An example scenario would consist of two phones calling each other. Phone A
remotely registered on SIPX ECS, from say a road warrior in a hotel calling
phone B also remotely registered SIPX ECS, say from the home of a
telecommuter.

Phone A calls phone B; the SIP call set up packets flow between A and B
through SIPX ECS and the new far end remote NAT traversal solution to set up
the call. It would be nice if the media traffic between A and B would flow
directly between them without having to pass thru the NAT traversal solution
once the call has been established even though both UA are externally
registered on SIPXECS.

Will this be possible?

Charles

We are working on a local and remote NAT traversal feature that will be part
of the sipXecs 4.0 baseline. That feature will address the problem being
described here. Some aspects of the feature are based on the sipXbridge but
is being offered as a general solution that will also work for non-SIP trunk
calls.

Stay tuned.

Cheers,
bob

You need something to do NAT traversal for the far end phones.

See the section on how to traverse firewalls at
http://sipx-wiki.calivia.com/index.php/SipX_HOWTO_Library

The best option in a released form at this point is an Ingate Siparator (
www.ingate.com <http://www.ingate.com> ) with the far-end NAT traversal
option, OpenSBC ( www.opensipstack.org <http://www.opensipstack.org> ) or go
beta with the 3.11.x code and test sipxBridge (although that might only be
for sip trunking at this point. not sure).

Now I like to register some phones from outside world.

This is the exact scenario's

How can I achieve that.

How could overcome this problem.

Do I have to Configure any setting on Sipx
