We've bought and tested several WLAN phones. In the end we dumped them all and opted for SNOM m3 DECT 6.0 phones. The m3 now has repeaters to increase range, and they are not at all expensive to deploy.
At the same time Aastra carries a more robust repeater/range design based more for the factory or manufacturing environment using DECT technology also. We see the SNOM being an "office" add-in for the desk phone, while the Aastra is a different type of handset used more in warehouse and manufacturing space. DECT 6.0 uses 1900Mhz, and does not interfere with your WLAN or licensed PCS spectrum. There's a wiki page for the m3. If your two LAN segments are connected at one point and there is plain routing (no NAT) then wlan phones should work fine. If you must use an FXS device and cordless phones make sure you get ones that use a different frequency to the wireless LAN. I know some DECT phones are 2.4GHz and will interfere with the network.
