Thanks for the tip. The only issue I have with this is that the user will
still need to change the volume back and forth, depending on if the call is
internal or external.

I also find the display a little small. I didn't mention this in my last
email, as it is very minor, but the quality of the display on the Polycom is
not as good as the quality of the display on our 15 to 20 year legacy phones
(bigger dots, harder to see from different angles). This isn't a big deal,
but I did find it a little surprising. I chalked this up to getting an entry
level phone, though.

I'm actually using an ITSP for landline calls. However, I originally came to
a similar conclusion that you did. I thought that maybe the ITSP volume was
set too low. I am currently testing with multiple ITSPs and I tried each to
see if there was a difference in the volume level. Unfortunately, there was
no noticeable difference between the different ITSPs.

I then tried an outgoing call from the Polycom going out through ITSP #1 and
then back into sipXecs through ITSP #2. I left a voicemail and listened to
it. The volume level was still much higher from the Polycom than from our
legacy phone. To me, it appears that the volume level of the phone is ideal
only when the other side is using an Polycom (or similar quality phone). It
is too low when coming from a legacy phone.

Since most of our clients use legacy systems at a lower volume, it would be
ideal if I could bump up the incoming volume level of ITSP, but I don't
think this is possible. Also, audio normalization would be great, but I'm
sure this would have a performance impact.

Although having to change the volume consistently (or compromise on the
volume level) for internal and external calls is a little annoying, it is
do-able. I guess at this point our main concern is with the speakerphone
level, which is insufficient at 100% if multiple people are in the room. I
don't see any workaround for this.

I'm still wondering if I'm the only one experiencing this problem, as I have
not seen any other negative feedback about this.
