As far as I know, in case of a simple call (external calls SipX user A, call runs to voicemail), the codec to be used is determined only by the voicemail system (in your case, the Microsoft Speech Server) and not by sipXecs.
Can it be that your media keepalive setting on sipxbridge (e.g. replay last sent packet) interferes with the Microsoft Speech Server? -----Original Message----- From: roman gelfand [mailto:rgelfa...@yahoo.com] Sent: 16 June 2009 16:28 To: Gabor Paller; sipx-users@list.sipfoundry.org Subject: Re: [sipx-users] Microsoft Exchange UM Voicemail Server Issue Yes, sibxbridge is involved. I have contacted the sip trunk provider. They said that I should make sure that sipx uses 711u-law codec and nothing else. Where can I configure the preffered codec? Sipxproxy does not deal with media streams, hence cannot cause media faults. -----Original Message----- From: roman gelfand [mailto:rgelfa...@yahoo.com] Sent: 16 June 2009 12:59 To: sipx-users@list.sipfoundry.org Subject: [sipx-users] Microsoft Exchange UM Voicemail Server Issue I am using Microsoft Speech Server ivr solution with, as far as sip communication is concerned, acts as Microsoft Exchange UM Voicemail Server. The problem that I am encountering is, 1) when the speech server ivr prompts are played, I hear clicking sound 2) the prompts are replayed because of excessive noise. I have tried dialing directly to the speech server using sip uri. I am not getting the above issues. Please, let me know if you need logs, etc...
