< As far as I know, in case of a simple call (external calls SipX user A, call
runs to voicemail), the codec to be used is determined only by the voicemail
system (in your case, the Microsoft Speech Server) and not by sipXecs.

This makes sense.  I am going to be looking at MSS.

< Can it be that your media keepalive setting on sipxbridge (e.g. replay last
sent packet) interferes with the Microsoft Speech Server?

How is that? and what to do about it?

BTW... If the call originated from a number maintained by the same ITSP as
mine,  it works fine.  The problem happens when calling from a phone provider
other than my ITSP.  I suppose this is where codecs could play a role.

Thanks for your help

Can it be that your media keepalive setting on sipxbridge (e.g. replay last

Yes, sibxbridge is involved.  I have contacted the sip trunk provider.  They
said that I should make sure that sipx uses 711u-law codec and nothing else.
Where can I configure the preffered codec?

Thanks for your help

Is sipxbridge involved somehow in the faulty case?
Sipxproxy does not deal with media streams, hence cannot cause media faults.

I am using Microsoft Speech Server ivr solution with, as far as sip
communication is concerned, acts as Microsoft Exchange UM Voicemail Server.

The problem that I am encountering is,
1) when the speech server ivr prompts are played, I hear clicking sound
2) the prompts are replayed because of excessive noise.

I have tried dialing directly to the speech server using sip uri.  I am not
getting the above issues.

Please, let me know if you need logs, etc...

Thanks in advance
