I don't think this is a volume level of the phone issue but rather a issue with
the volume/gain of the beep. The user in question has no problems hearing
conversations on her Polycom 501, but for some reason she can't hear (or
doesn't want to hear) the call waiting beep and doesn't always see the visual
indications on the monochrome LCD. I need something to rock her socks off when
a call comes in.

Someone else would have to confirm this, but I believe this is a phone
setting and not a sipXecs setting.

I had a similar issue with the volume loudness on the Polycom SoundPoint
320. I was able to resolve my issue by tweaking the gains. I'm not sure if
you can tweak the call waiting beep using this method or not (or even if
you're using Polycom phones), but you may want to take a look. See here for
more info:

Is it possible to change the "beep" heard if you're on the phone and a
incoming call comes in to something a little louder or longer? I know there
is a visual indication on the phone's LCD and the volume level is
comfortable and prominent for most, but what if you have a user who is
hearing impaired?

Thanks,
Matt
