Yes.

I have just solved the problem, though. I went through all of the Polycom
configuration settings, looking for things that were different than the default
settings. I found that the Primary & Secondary Registration Server Port were
set to 5060, and the default was blank.

After blanking these fields out, the MWI works! I don't know if the default in
sipX was changed from 3.10 to 4.0, or if I put these in at some point.

Thanks for your help.

Scott

and you sent the profile to the server as well?

Sorry... I wasn't very clear. Yes, I did send the new profiles
(following the instructions in the wiki) to all of the phones after I
did the sipX upgrade to 4.0.1.

I implied from Michael's email that the Polycom config files are somehow
generated differently based upon which firmware is installed on the
server.

Anyway... following Michael's advice. I just regenerated a config file
with the 3.1.3C files active on the server instead of the 3.1.1C
firmware file I have been using. I compared the before and after
Polycom config files, and they were identical.

Scott.

Scott - it certainly does matter. It reformats the configuration file
and adds new features to sipxconfig for some phones (like polycom). if
something is formatted incorrectly (like MWI) that function will not
work, and is a VERY good idea to use a 4.x sipxconfig generated polycom
config file on polycom 3.1x and up. It's on the wiki to send the
profiles to both the server and the devices as part of the upgrade
procedure. I'd recommend doing that to at least one phone to see if that
solves the problem with that line, then roll the change out to the other
phones. post back and let us know how it goes.

Yes, that does matter.

I'm not sure if I resent the profile after I changed the firmware on the
server. Would that matter? (Does the profile change based upon the
firmware installed?) I definitely resent the profiles several times
after the upgrade.

Anyway, we have about 50 phones, and I ended up manually changing all of
the MWI subscribe info on the lines to be the full SIP URL.

We haven't run into any other problems.

Thanks,

After you upgraded the phone, did you resend all of the profiles with
the new firmware files on the server?

3.1.1C

I just tried updating a phone to 3.1.3C. No change.

Scott.

What version of the Polycom SIP application are you running?
