Hi Bernardo and Michael,

We use that model of switches too as well as the latest 48-port model.

I think whatever the problem is, it has almost the same pattern somewhere. We are also using Polycom 330s. Same firmware and ROM version (beside almost all version pair tests that end up with same freezing)

Interestingly using 2.2.2 with 4.x ROM was stable. But any version in SIP 3.x ends-up with frequent freezes and users have to unplug-n-plug manually (somewhat alienates the end-user).

Now I am running 4.0.2, i dont think i can switch back to SIP 2.2.2 due to the config files being generated by SIP server(?) The version number for Polycom 330 phone profile is not shown anymore as it did in earlier versions.

Bernardo, what do you mean by the following comment (Wins record relating to freeze)? Can you please elaborate in details if possible? I can test the pattern you found here since the issue is very similar.

My dhcpd.conf looks like this;
   range                        192.168.1.40  192.168.1.246;
   default-lease-time           86400;
   max-lease-time               99999;
   option routers               192.168.1.1;
   option subnet-mask           255.255.255.0;
   option domain-name           "";
   option tftp-server-name      "sipx.company.com";
   option sip-servers-name      "sipx.company.com:12000/cmcprov/login$
   option domain-name-servers   192.168.1.2, 165.21.83.88, 165.21.100.11;
   option ntp-servers           pool.ntp.org;

I have checked with Linksys and Polycom. Polycom 330 is a class 2 PoE phone and Linksys provides class 2 PoE in those models (24 and 48 ports). Taking into account they also sell these switches to Linksys SPA phones with PoE, I believe they are not 'so' bad. Unfortunately I didnt have a say in the purchase of the equipment and replacing them with new (HP Procurve) is not very practical at this stage. Therefore I am very much interested to find out what might be causing this and how it can be addressed by other means.

With limited options, i am trying to get my hands on to a HP Procurve switch (they are pricey for a trial test run for sure). But that won't be happening very soon...

So any feedback or findings you might have will be highly appreciated.

all the best.
