I actually host my external home DNS with GoDaddy and it costs me like
$12/year. No web hosting... just DNS.

Subject: [sipx-users] SRV, public ip address and home system

Hey guys
I have been trying to resolve this can not connect issue concerning the
smtp (voicemail attachment or more). My understanding so far is it could

be a srv issue with a cheap web hosting provider. I have researched
several possible web hosts (10 candidates so far) in the area of $4 to
$6 a month and none of them can handle the srv records. My question is
...how can someone implement a home system at a reasonable cost and
still accommodate the srv record issue? Is there something else that I'm

missing here? Or can I implement a home system without a public ip
address and get out from under this srv issue? The wiki says you can
have a home system. Please advise.
Thanks
