Hi Kumar,
The remote NAT traversal feature does not do topology hiding and tries
to change as few fields as possible to avoid breaking end-to-end
interop.  sipXecs always Record-Routes dialog-forming invites.  As such,
every in-dialog request such as they ACK has to be sent to sipXecs - not
the address in the contact.  Once sipXecs receives these in-dialog
requests, it will make sure to send them to the intended recipient using
that recipient's public IP address and port.

        Thanks for the reply. This helped me in setting up. However I
have one further question. 

         

        When the INVITE is sent from the remote worker and we get a 200
Ok, the contact address in the 200 OK would be the private network
address. So the ACK would ideally go to the private address. I believe
this should not be the case. So should this address also be natted?

        You can indeed use your LAN as a way to simulate the 'public
Internet'.   All you really need to test basic remote worker is a 2
NATs. 2 phones and an sipXecs.

         

        Connect the WANs of the two NATs together by connecting them to
the same network (LAN, public internet, x-over cable).  Put one phone
behind one NAT and put sipXecs behind the other and you are setup.
