On Monday I will be attempting to configure QoS on a SMC7904BRB2 router
(owned by a client, offsite). I do not have access to this router for
testing, so I have been doing some research on how to configure this so that
I am ready on Monday.

I found the user manual online here:
https://www.smc.com/files/AD/MN_SMC7904BRA2_BRB2_EU.pdf

On page 4-59 it details the QoS settings. This is what I was thinking of
setting the options to (5 users on the network with 5 phones, light internet
usage):

QoS Settings

Enable or Disable QoS Module Function: Enable
Diffserv Forwarding Groups (name, min bandwidth allocation, allow more):
BE, 0%, true
AF1x, 0%, true
AF2x, 0%, true
AF3x, 0%, true
AF4x, 0%, true
EF, 20%, true (I just picked this number out of the air - I don't have
bandwidth speeds yet, but hope to get them before Monday so that I can come
up with a better number)

Traffic Mapping

Add traffic class with the following:
Rule Name: VoIP
Traffic Type: ? (the manual shows a drop down with "Any" selected and and
"ADVANCED CONFIG" button - no further details are given)
Map to Forwarding Group: EF
Remark DSCP as: EF (101110) (again, this is a drop down with no further
description about the options other than "the first 6 bits of the IP TOS
field", which I'm guessing will be 101110)
Direct to VC: By Routing? (this is also a drop down - I do not know what the
other options are - I will have to review the current ATM PVC settings to
see if there are multiple VCs - I think there's only 1, but I'm just
guessing)

Do these settings look OK? Should I add any other rules? I think I read
somewhere that ACKs should be prioritized higher as well.
