OK, I'm trying to set up Pidgin.

I have a "sandbox" DMZ for testing. On this DMZ are the
sipXecs server (4.2), A Windows PC (for admin and to run
Pidgin), and a phone (Polycom IP550).

I did a fresh install of 4.2, told sipXecs to be the DNS and
DHCP server, and imported the user and phone list from our
"live" sipXecs server (4.0.4)

I verified with nslookup that the DNS server is working
correctly, and returning SRV records both for SIP and XMPP.

I installed Pidgin, and configured the account as:
Protocol: XMPP
Username: 12 (my extension)
Resource: (blank - should something be here?)
Password: (My SIP Password from my sipXecs user page)
Local Alias: (blank)

I left everything on the Advanced tab at the default
values.

When I try to enable the account, it prompted me to accept
the certificate (the info on the certificate shows the
correct hostname of the sipXecs server), and then came back
as "Not Authorized"

I tried:
- Changing Username to "mailto:[email protected]"; (gives "Invalid
XMPP ID")
- Changing Connect Server to the hostname of the sipXecs
server (no change in symptoms)
- Changing Connect Server to the IP Address of the sipXecs
server (no change in symptoms)
- Unchecked "Require SSL/TLS" (no change in symptoms)

Can someone give me a quick rundown on the proper settings?
