Could I set my qos.ethernet.rtp.user_priority and rtp.precedence to 6 or 5 is the max?
I have a layer 3 switch which I can use to golbally set CoS settings. I think it's a qos issue but I'm not sure what direction is best for such a small network of 8 phones and 6 remote users. -----Original Message----- From: "Josh Patten" [[email protected]] Date: 05/14/2010 09:34 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [sipx-users] Polycom IP HD 550 echo problem The two that really differ from site to site are the voice volume and input gain. It really depends on how far you are from the CO, the quality of the lines, etc. Josh Patten Assistant Network Administrator Brazos County IT Dept. Two very different scenarios – each has addressed the issue. In my experience, it’s really a matter of playing with the gateway settings to find the answer. Here is a screen shot of what worked on one of our FXO gateways (AudioCodes). It's not an easy problem to solve. Unfortunately echo is not something you can just "turn off". It something that can be minimized but not eliminated due to the nature of VoIP.
