Fxo gateways don't register. Gateways don't give dialtone to digital phones. If the phone gives you dialtone its for human comfort. The phone should give it to you when you pick it up. Even without a gateway present. Default the phobe.
Configure the gateway with sipx. Download the config and upload it to the gateway via the gateway webui then burn the config into the gateway. Then setup the gateway in sipxconfig. You don't need a dialplan to call from the pstn to the gateway. The gateway doesnt registers but Ive read that that is normal, the lines dont register either but I heard only the FXS lines register.
