Yes. I'm using Verizon. They say they are using Broadsoft. I haven;t
experienced anything like what you described. The first level techs
were very confused though. They didn't have a clue.
We don't authenticate at all. It is all done by IP. I had to tell
them I was running Nortel SCS.
what settings did you need on the sipx side?
(ports, in, out, etc?)
p-asserted identity?
right now, inbound calls work (sorta) I put them on hold on a poly,
and it hangs up. I put them on hold on a cisco, hold works, but
unhold hangs up.
outbound calls, one way audio (i guess, sip trace doesn't even show it
connecting ANY audio. they claim that they see me asking for G.722
(from my poly, or sipx bridge)
They are sending calls in on 5060. They said that could not be changed.
I had no choice but to use Verizon for this setup.
On our router, we translate 5060 -> 5080 on inbound traffic.
Outbound port is 5070
ITSP settings:
Username: 10 digit DID
'Use public address for call setup'- This is unchecked. IT did not work
with this checked.
'Use default asserted identity' - This is checked
We have no firewall or IP NAT'ing in place on this connection. It is a
private connection to Verizon. On the NAT tab, I have 'Specify an IP
address', becuase I had to pick something. On 4.0.4 I have the hostname
of the Verizon SIP server put in for 'Public IP address'. I know this is
not correct, but I had to put something there. on 4.2.x, it will not
allow a hostname, so I put the IP of the Verizon SIP server I connect
to. Public port is set to 5060.
It was trial and error with several of these settings, but they have
worked well for me.

your ITSP using broadsoft?
or, you have broadsoft sip trunks and are routing to/from sipx?
(any broadsoft engineers want to ping me so I can tell the level3
guys how to set it up?)
they want me to authenticate on every outbound call. sipx thinks a
hold is a outbound call (sorta?) a reinvite to the moh server?. at
which point the call fails, since it didn't authenticate on the
'outbound' call.
