Thanks for everyone's help. I decided to ditch the 6730i (the boss did 
not like it anyway) and get a Polycom IP 335. All I had to do was pull 
it out of the box and plug it into the network. The phone was 
immediately registered and configured by sipx - very nice. The final 
step was to tell sipx what extensions to use for lines 1 & 2.
