My and my colleague's iMacs are running Bria 3.1 softphones. Everyone else is using hard phones - Snom 360/370 or Aastraa 53i/57i. My analog gateway is an AudioCodes MP-118 Firmware 5.8. Running sipXecs 4.2.1
Occasionally, the Bria 3.1 softphones can not dial a number that starts with the 905 are code. Bell answers and says "this is a long distance call". Add a "1" to the number and Bell says "this is a local call". The Bria softphones have a phone based dial plan that injects a "9" prefix. The hard phones do not have phone based dial plans. sipXecs has a "Local" dialplan that removes the "9" prefix. Dial a "416-xxx-xxxx" number from a Brian 3.1 softphone, or "9416-xxx-xxxx" from a hard phone and the AudioCodes log shows the generated DTMF is "416xxx-xxxx" - the call works. Dial "9905-xxx-xxxx" from a hard phone and the call log shows the generated DTMF is "905-xxx-xxxxx" - the call works. Dial "9905-xxx-xxxx" from a Brian 3.1 softphone and the call log shows the generated DTMF is "9905-xxx-xxxxx" - the call fails. This behavior is not consistent. I can most often call my home number that stats with "905" from my softphone. And I don't see how it can be a problem with my local instance of the Bria 3.1 softphone because when my colleague complained that he could not dial a certain "905" number, I couldn't call that number either. I am not certain if that number is still unreachable from either Bria softphone. I will check on Monday. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have seen this behavior. Last time I had to use my cell phone to make the call.
