Thanks for the info, and yes I did mean xmpp presence. My profiles/server are setup as suggested but for some reason it's not working for me. I'll keep looking to figure out where I've made an error.

In order for presence to work, your phone profile and xmpp profile need to be set phone=sip only, xmpp=xmpp only (and presence). The XMPP server needs to be the openfire server on sipx, in order to get the dialogue events to update presence from the phone.
