Thanks for the info, and yes I did mean xmpp presence.

My profiles/server are setup as suggested but for some reason it's not working
for me. I'll keep looking to figure out where I've made an error.

Regards,
Paul

You cannot use a domain alias with xmpp.
Ditto's on the Counterpath statement to me, they have no intention to support
SRV for XMPP, nor would they take it under advisement.

In order for presence to work, your phone profile and xmpp profile need to be
set phone=sip only, xmpp=xmpp only (and presence).

The XMPP server needs to be the openfire server on sipx, in order to get the
dialogue events to update presence from the phone.

Presence is a nice word for a lot of things.

You probably mean XMPP presence, if so read on:
I have it working relatively OK (Bria resets the XMPP session every now and
then, opened an issue with Counterpath).
Bria unfortunately does not use the sip-domain-name as XMPP-domain, but the
hostname.
To make it working I have set up a dedicated XMPP server with
hostname==sip-domain-name.
So if your sip domain is sip.example.com<http://sip.example.com> then you have
to create a host with hostname sip.example.com<http://sip.example.com>.

This might work with an alias on an existing server as well but I haven't
tried. Maybe others did.

Make sure you enable IM and then send the profile to the Bria phone and
logout-login in Bria.

BTW: Until now I have had no indication from Counterpath that they are going to
support anything else.

Paul

Does anyone have presence working with Bria 3.1.2? If so are there any edits
I need to make to the configurations that sipx sends to the Bria
softphone?_______________________________________________
