Maybe you better explain, slowley, exactly what you are asking for.
if you want to place a 'phone call' and just take 11 digits to the left,
then just dial the 11 digits?
what exactly do you want?
I you have a polycom phone, you can't do it except if you break inbound
caller id functionality, or, use add the uri's as speed dial.
However, if you have a 1+ number, it is most likely your dial plan is
going to try to outpulse it anyway.
So, are you trying to make a call to a long distance number? and want to
use sip? are you sure the recipient uses sip?
USUALLY, a sip uri will NOT start out with a number. (sometimes they do)
and, for many sites, there is an alias for sip.
example: <sip:[email protected]> instead of [email protected].
(i am not sure what happens if you dial the 1)
so, try the <sip:[email protected]> and if it works, you have sip
dialing set up right. if not, then look at the FAQ's and decide exactly
what you are trying to do.
Hint: second hint: the polycom phones won't work. softphones are the
best when it comes to sip dialing. a 12 key phone keypad makes for a
pittiful keyboard.
also, as tony said, try ISN dialing. you can use your keypad. 1234*256
will get you an audio test (monkies,) then an echo test.
