Sorry did read enough posts, however, if you look on there wiki there were 
instructions about how to integrate with other SIP systems besides asterix. 
They 
specifically mentioned SIPX.

And this is what I meant by spending more efforts on bridges and what ever sipx 
needs to make itself more easily bridged into other major software packages. 
Then dev isn't trying to take on countless packages and users can more easily 
help each other out and programmers for the other packages might even volunteer 
to help fix up any bridge problems etc. Then it's not all on sipx hands.

And more importantly, for me at least, its' easier to build stand alone boxes 
that do just one thing but are seamlessly tied into, controlled by perhaps, one 
sipx interface. Not sure about the later :).
