This might be off topic if it's not something that sipx gets involved in but it's possible I'm not aware of a method by which it could control call flow based on codec. From what I understand, sipx doesn't care what codec is being used, a voip packet is a voip packet.
I need to find a way of saving bandwidth. I would like to have all remotes using only G.729 but since sipx doesn't handle codecs, I'm at a loss on how to accomplish this. Vonage for example allows the user to pick between three settings so I imagine this means they are either controlling the codec at their end or are sending a new profile to the remote device? Are there any ways of accomplishing this? It's mainly remote to remote that I'm having a problem with.
