Correct, if you want to control the codec for sip-to-sip calls that do not traverse sipxbridge (trunk calls) you would need either a hardphone or softphone that sipx can set the codec preferences in the profile. Polycom's and Bria softphones can both have the codec set via the phone profile. Outside of that you would need to manually configure the remote phones codec preference. -m
