My aim was not prove that Ubuntu Server or Debian is better than CentOS (not sure I can even if I tried), nor that it would be commercially viable to support that platform. That's why I won't go into technical details, and again I don't have a huge problem with CentOS/Fedora. However, Ubuntu Server LTS gets as much attention (if not more :-) from Canonical as RHEL gets from Red Hat. Unfortunately Red Hat doesn't pass much of that love onto CentOS, for 'obvious' reason I guess. So when it comes to packages dependencies and just the overall experience, Ubuntu Server seems to be friendlier - It even has hardware certification (which CentOS doesn't directly but probably inherits).
Having said that though I'm OK with the CentOS builds and ISO's that are available to the community. Has anyone on the list recently tried to compile sipxecs source on Ubuntu/Debian, if so which versions and what process did you follow?
