It was developers that pointed to that script.

I have seen that script and method and it doesn't appear to have been
maintained and it does not appear to be production ready as the tools being
used to produce it are not maintained. as I stated there are several ways to
do this. 

you would be better served to add to the JIRA and ask for dev input and see
about getting it put on the schedule.
