The idea that I have been tossing around is to take one of these scripts, build it into the current code, and submit it as a part of the release. I would not want to build it as a one off for support reasons, unless that was the only way to accomplish it. But to integrate, test and release falls well within the goals of the project, and I believe how it should be done.
This does seem like a simple enough project that we can get it done without distracting developers from much more important tasks.
