As for a default IM (JID) name for a user, would it make sense to align that with the user's email handle? The user would then have an extension, as well as an IM ID, which at the same time is inserted as an alias. This way XMPP ID and SIP ID are aligned and the user can log into the IM client as well as into the user portal using that same ID. --martin
