A few months ago, I proposed an idea in the openACD list I believe it was but
never head a thing back. I'd like to bring it up again here, and leave it in
your hands if this is something you are interested in, or not.

One problem with remotes is that it can be a bit difficult for some to set up
SIP phones.
I was wondering if there would be a way to allow for the client to be in the
web server itself.

When someone connects to the web server portion of sipx, we could have a flash
based SIP client embedded.
Once configured, perhaps the settings are saved in a cookie which is placed on
the users end.
The next time they go to the web site, their client would automatically get
configured and authenticated and be ready to go.

This should eliminate any NAT problems as well since the client would be
authenticated locally no?

Finally, the user could use what ever they want, a webcam with microphone, a
webcam with bluetooth or other mic, etc just like any other flash application.

Now, I'm sure some will jump all over me telling me how complicated this would
be or how useless it might be but why bother. It seems it would be more
positive to see if others might be interested in such a feature by not
overwhelming my thread with over the top comments. I have to believe that
others would be interested in something like this and that any problems could
be resolved one at a time. If sipx doesn't want to do it, that's fine, I can
pass the idea on to other projects and see if anyone is interested. I think
it's the future, it seems to make a lot of sense.

The bottom line is that this would be a very cool feature, and very easy to use
for remotes who are using PC's, laptops, mobiles, tablets etc once adobe comes
out with a flash version which allows access to mic/camera devices.

Just some thoughts I wanted to share.
