We are not using VOP, 3 users with Polycom 501 phones are part of hunt groups that the DIDs are directed to Other systems display the call with the hunt group name
Theses phones were connected to another VIOP system, that would do this, I do not know the system, or how it was done So, is creating a separate line my only option From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Tony Graziano Sent: Wednesday, December 07, 2011 11:08 AM To: Discussion list for users of sipXecs software Subject: Re: [sipx-users] Anouncing an incomming call based on DNIS He needs to which of the two numbers the outside caller dialed in order to say the right thing when answering the phone. Its the number that was dialed, not dialed from. Sipx does not have a way to distinguish that. It does distinguish DID numbers, hence you use different lines on the phones to separate "sales" and "service", etc. On Wed, Dec 7, 2011 at 2:00 PM, Todd Hodgen <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: If this is a receptionist, the VOP has the ability to build a directory of DID numbers, and the person who owns them. When the call comes in, it displays the callerID, number dialed, and the directory lookup for the greeting.
