i am not concerned with the endpoint since sipfoundry does not produce an
endpoint. i had this discussion with mp3licensing.com already. sipx does
not produce an endpoint, mp3 licensing does not apply to sipfoundry,
period. please refer to the tracker for the mp3 request and all the
relevant details are there.

I think there is no issue with this position. I am totally confident. I
also had the same conversation with the folks at FS who also render MP3
options the same way, and found out the same thing. The media player in
sipxconfig has a way to do this without violation of licnesing, though I
did suggest we look at an html5 way of doing thisd and suggested some
examples I found.

YOUR issue is with the MP3 format and whether you can use a paid r pfree
plugin to play the unlicensed (non distributed) content. That is your
issue. I won't dismiss this but I find playing MP3 on portable devices and
corporate laptops and mobile devices a damn sight easier to implement than
OGG.
