I'll post the M-ATA follow-up question as a separate email so others might engage.

Also, Mike, why don't you like the Linksys SPAs? I really would like your take on it.

I have an SPA2102 at home which connects directly to Flowroute and has a DECT phone connected to it. Flowroute does not support v-mail so I have call forwarding to a Google voice account after 20 seconds. The account is configured to send everything to v-mail. I get no MWI on the device, but I do get an email. I think the interface to the device is very clunky, but if all the config can be done in sipX, I'm not sure I care. Originally, I had to reboot the device every few weeks, but that issue seems to have resolved itself which leads me to believe the problem was not with the device itself.

forgot the wireless part (silly me, see subject).

the follow up question should be "Anyone using an M-ATA for remote users with sipx?"

sure, but if he wants a cordless phone out there this isn't an
option... which is how this discussion began. if all you are
doing is hanging a single phone out there, is there really need
for more than the smartlink? I think not... unless nat traversal
    on it doesn't work.

the smartlink is a very basic device. I've gotten feedback
from a few people and they seem to have a lot of functionality
stripped out compared to the regular smart node.

IMO - A small Polycom is much more robust than an ATA for a
        remote worker.

their smartnode products of course work well and we know
            they work...

needs to make and receive calls and have
access to v-mail. A DID would
be assigned directly to this phone.

I see there is a template for the eol m3.
                            Is the m9 setup similar?
