IMHO a team of maintainers would be the right solution, systemimager is a very
complicated package: it has multiple packages, arch strangeness, binaries into
arch-independent packages, etc. (kudos Dann!)

This means a lot of work.

For this reason I *do not* want to be the maintainer of the Debian packages and
in particular I *do not* want to learn the complicated Debian policies. The work
to be done in the development, bug fixing, documentation, user support, etc etc
is enough for me. :-) And, in general, I think it's better to have a good
software that doesn't work perfectly with a distro, respect to have a
bad/obsolete software that works perfectly.

This is just to clarify that my focus in this issue would be to only make the
deb packaging easier and I'll do my best for this.

Now that I have a debian-like environment available for any kind of test I'm
ready to accept (and try to fix) any bug, change some things (maybe not
everything) in order to be more compliant with Debian and reduce the "diffs"
from the official packages (read: reduce the work for the maintainers). I hope
in this way the *systemimager maintainer* could become a more attracting job.
;-)

All of these useless words to say that I'm ready to discuss the packages
conflicts with the Debian policies. Feel free to start the bug flood...
