Hi, again.
Thanks for your assistance. still no joy though. see below for details.
You need to modify your kernel append option with a larger RAMDISK_SIZE
(I usually use 70,000). Hopefully that should work.
That did get me booted into the syslinux image. (FYI, the exact syntax
on the boot command line is as follows:
kernel ramdisk_size=70000
character case is significant.)
I mentioned that I was using a non-bootable floppy with a msdos
filesystem and a local.cfg file in the root dir to provide the
networking and image information.
The floppy disk is not being detected by the fd driver, I guess. (There
is a disk in the drive and it has the file and it is readable.) here are
the messages:
read_kernel_append_parameters
read_local_cfg
Checking for floppy diskette.
YUO MAY SEE SOME "wrong magic" ERRORS HERE AND THAT IS NORMAL.
No floppy diskette in drive.
the rc continues till it fails to get a response out of dhcps (we don't
run one).
any idea why the diskette isn't being detected ? (the local.cfg has unix
line enders, not msdos, e.g. LF characters only. could that be a problem?)
