Hi all, Before I go tweaking the autoinstall script and building ISO images per server (I'm only using SI as a bare-metal recovery, not for clustering), I'm testing a boot CD (without autoinstall tweaks) by passing network options at the boot prompt. (Later, I'll add "APPEND" commands to the autoinstall template and remake my ISO images.)
Based on the errors BusyBox is throwing at me, its version of ifconfig isn't being run correctly. Here's what I'm trying to pass on the boot prompt (mildly obfuscated): boot: systemimager HOSTNAME=host.uchicago.edu DEVICE=eth0 IPADDR=1.2.3.4 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 GATEWAY=1.2.3.1 BROADCAST 1.2.3.255 I have *no* DHCP server running, and don't want or need one. The image has a "replicant" IP setting. These servers have their own IPs. And the parameters I pass should work. However, I get an error from BusyBox giving the "usage" for ifconfig and then a message from SI that says it couldn't use my pre-boot settings. Any suggestions on what is going wrong here? The system I'm trying to image is a Dell PowerEdge R710 (the image is of a RHEL 5-x86_64 install). The server on which images are stored (and where I'm building the ISOs) is an Aberdeen AberNAS running a CentOS 4-based system. -R -- Robby Desmond BiblioVault Operations Assistant University of Chicago Press http://www.bibliovault.org/ ph: 773-834-2387 cell: 773-458-0959 rdesm...@press.uchicago.edu ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nokia and AT&T present the 2010 Calling All Innovators-North America contest Create new apps & games for the Nokia N8 for consumers in U.S. and Canada $10 million total in prizes - $4M cash, 500 devices, nearly $6M in marketing Develop with Nokia Qt SDK, Web Runtime, or Java and Publish to Ovi Store http://p.sf.net/sfu/nokia-dev2dev _______________________________________________ sisuite-users mailing list sisuite-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sisuite-users
