Hey SI-users,

Question: Should I abandon all hope of ever getting support from the
SISuite lists?

Reasons:

1) The Wiki is spammed.
2) Trac is spammed.
3) Last "stable" release (which I'm trying to use, production
environment and all) is almost 3 years old.
4) Trac roadmap indicates a version 4.2.x and 5.x in the sights, but
4.1.7 is still not considered the "active stable". Is anyone at the
project going to clarify the "release cycle" such as it is?
5) Only the developer list seems to get any response from anyone
involved with SISuite, leading me to believe that support is considered
"beneath" the project managers.

Now, just to give someone a fair chance, I'll reiterate the question I
initially posed to the list:

I've generated a boot CD for an SI image stored on my SI server. I'm
using 4.0.2, because that is considered stable, and before I go tweaking
my autoinstall.conf file to generate CD images with the necessary
network options pre-embedded, I'm trying to test passing the network
options at the boot prompt.

It would appear that SI is reading them correctly, but not passing them
to BusyBox's implementation of ifconfig correctly. I base this on the
fact that the SI script spits out a "usage" prompt from BusyBox for
ifconfig, tells me it failed to be able to use the network settings I
gave it, and then dumps me to the standard "something went wrong" message.

I don't run a DHCP server and I don't want to run a DHCP server. I'm
using SI for bare-metal recovery only. (All my images are of individual
servers and all are REPLICANT for the the IP settings.)

Anyone got an idea as to *why* this would not work?
