Could well be. I didn't have any problems in that regard with TLU, but released 
a new version soon after 10.9 came out.

AFAIK, you have to create a new cert. I think you used to be able to keep 
signing with the expired one; pretty sure I accidentally did that with BibDesk 
for a while.
