resulted in a long list of advantages of Skim over Preview. You may

Note that on Leopard Export... With Embedded Notes exports notes to  
standard PDF format (can be edited in Preview, as far as Preview  
supports them), while you can use Convert Notes... to convert PDF  
notes to Skim format.

I personally was disappointed by the improvements to PDFKit and  
Preview in Leopard.
