In my case if Aquamacs is started up nothing happens.

If it is started up and the buffer is open then it point there.

If it is started up but the buffer is not opened and you just started
aquamacs say then nothing happens...

...oddly if you have the buffer close, aquamacs open, but you just
closed the buffer and had it previously opened, then shift+cmd+click
will bring up the file. (I don't understand this intermediate behavior
frankly.)

I don't have that line. I didn't change that because I am new to Skim
and so I wanted to keep c-c c-v bringing up Preview whereas Jump to
PDF or shift+cmd+ click brings up Skim (after which everything brings
up skim). this gave me the option of choosing the viewer, albeit in a
funny way (probably better way is to code a hook with both options).
Now that I am getting used to (addicted?) to Skim I may switch this
default behavior...
